The following was pulled off of the CBSportsline web site:

  Mets, Rangers deny Soriano talks
Following reports the Mets and Rangers had discussed a trade involving Alfonso Soriano and Jose Reyes, both teams denied that had been the case.

At Port St. Lucie, Fla., Mets owner Fred Wilpon told Reyes: "You're not going anywhere."

Asked if that was an executive decision, Wilpon replied, "It's a baseball decision and I'm in accord with it."

At Rangers camp in Surpise, Ariz., Texas GM John Hart told the Dallas Morning News he had not talked with the Mets about swapping the middle infielders.

On Feb. 23, Newsday and the Newark Star-Ledger reported the Mets and Rangers were discussing a trade of Soriano for Reyes because Texas was desperate for a shortstop and New York sought a marquee slugger.

The newspaper said the Rangers have had their eyes on Reyes, who has been switched to second because the Mets signed Japanese shortstop Kazuo Matsui.

Better luck next time Mark. Now about those rumors regarding Baez being on very, very shaky ground.......those might have a little more credibility.
