League:
I have renewed our subscription to TQ Stats, so our web page is now up and
running. Each of you should have received an e-mail with instructions on how
to re-register your team; please do so promptly so all of our information is
updated. As you will see, I have put a placeholder in for "Buddha's team,"
which should change to his official team name once he registers. For ease of
administration, Buddha's team now appears where the Riptorns previously appeared,
so it will appear as if Buddha has a full roster of players.
For the time being, no changes will be made to the web page (e.g., waiver
of players who have FA contract status or moved to the NL), so there is no need
to notify me of those sorts of errors. I expect we will make the first
changes to the web page after roster freeze day. Take some time to roam around the
site because the look and format of the site has changed.
I have for this year enabled the feature that allows the web page to handle
FAAB bidding. During the first few weeks of the season, we will continue our
practice of sending e-mails to the commissioner with FAAB bids, but if the
system works properly, we will discontinue that practice. However, to implement
the automated FAAB bidding process, I propose we make whatever changes are
necessary to our rules to accommodate it, including the elimination of
nettlesome "contingent" bidding. I will do some investigating during the next few
weeks to determine whether contingent bidding would be permitted under the
automated system. Note: trades will still have to run through the commissioner via
e-mail.
Enjoy the new site. Let me know if you notice any problems.
