In more surprising Spring news, Cal Pickering, the slowest man in all of  
organized baseball has beaten Ken Harvey out for the last roster spot on the KC  
Royals.  As though the Brats needed any more help.  I'll follow up  with 
further details, but this cements their position as the Winick Favorite for  2005.
 
    Calvin  Pickering  - 1B, KC Mar 29 12:47 PM  Pickering  was declared the 
winner over Ken Harvey for a designated hitter/first base  spot as the Royals 
whittled their roster to 25 players Tuesday, the Royals  website reports. 
RotoWire.com  Recommends: Pickering, a hulking left-handed hitter, will open  the 
season April 4 at Detroit in the cleanup spot as the DH.
