Subject: [USML Announce] USML - Voting results and New Owner (He's
baaack...)

League:

The voting is complete, and it appears that the new owner will draft from
scratch. The new owner has already been notified.

The proposed new owner is actually not someone "new." I am pleased to
report that, after a two year hiatus, Brad Jansen has expressed a desire to
rejoin the league for the 2006 season. Almost all of us know Brad, but for
those who do not, some history. Brad operated one of the most storied
franchises in USML history, known then (and will be again) as the Riptorns,
in honor of actor Rip Torn. Brad (and his partner Mike Rogers) won our
league an unprecedented four years in a row, from 1997 to 2000. Brad won
again in 2002, and if memory serves, he won that year after first deciding
to dump his team, and then a short period later, reversing course. He's an
excellent player and a good guy.

If anyone objects to Brad re-entering the league, please let me know. If
not, Brad will be there on April 1, with $260 to spend and zero retained
players. If the league approves, there is obviously no need to adjust our
rules, as we will remain at 11 teams.
