Oh yes, I do remember it well, Brad-- good spin, I must say, you covered
your tracks as if you had been in the league the last few years.....

...he's one of several players who very well may be available for the
right place, Doug, but to address the trace of sarcasm I detected in
your inquiry, allow me to remind you that Julio Lugo was also traded to
the Rips in the deal that netted the Nukes Reed Johnson...

Will you part with oh-so-valuable Shane Costa now, Brad?

...and remember, none of this would have been possible had the
Nukes not had the foresight to draft hot prospect Alex Gordon,
subsequently used to obtain speedster Scotty Pods, without whom the
Nukes would be the ones composing a concession speech (along with the
Damon's ransom note). I'll let the pundits Winick and Klein debate the
merits of such deals, but for now I salute the Nukes and Angries for a
well-fought and inspiring battle. The only difference between a winner
and a whiner is the "h"...as well as an extra "n" in the word "winner."
You get my point. Time for a trade! Who's with me, lads?!

Is it now safe to say the fact that my former chief
rival, Mark Kerber actually picked up Julian Tavarez the second to last
week of the season, activated him, then proceeded to have him throw nine
innings of one-run ball means he is officially the champion? How could
it not be time-- it's taken me this long to realize it really did happen
and that Tavarez really did that well for the Nukes....magical.
Is it now safe to say congrats, Kerbs-- from DeRosa to
Otsuka to Tavarez to Luna, you made all the right moves. That said, if
Klein knocks a few more homers, the Republicans grab a few more wins,
the Hots/9 jump in era/whip, the Hots take over the saves category and
we outhomer the Calamari these last few days.......uhhh, we still fall a
little short.
Shabes--
