He was placed on the DL without ever having been sent to the minors.
He is therefore on the major league team's DL. The two bucks comes off the
salary budget.

Arias does not appear on the Rangers 25 man roster.? Should we deduct
the $2?
 ?
The second Section 16.3 of our rules suggests that we should.
 ?
The cumulative salaries of players protected immediately prior to the
Auction shall be deducted from the team's $260 expenditure limit, as well as
any amounts deducted in accordance with Section 16.6, with the balance
remaining available for the acquisition of the remaining players needed to
complete the team's Active Roster. However, the salary of a player protected
on Roster Freeze Day (assuming that such player remains on a team's Active
Roster or Reserve Roster on Draft
Day) shall not be deducted from the $260 limit if, on Draft Day, such player
is not on an American League team's major league roster or disabled list and
such player has not completed his first "season"
within the meaning of Section 16.2.
 ?
I don't think we've ever had a situation where a reserved player with
major league rookie status whose USML contract wasn't running started the
year on the disabled list.? I've always wondered if there was a "major
league disabled list" as opposed to a "minor league disabled list."? Arias
did have a few major league at bats last year -- I'm not at all sure if he
was expected to be at the major league level if healthy.
 ?
I don't have strong feelings either way on this one and could certainly
accept dealing with this situation by allowing the Brats to not pay the $2.?
If we require the Brats to pay $2 then I think we need to start Arias'
contract as well -- all of which seems odd.
 ?
As for my reserves, Erbe and Maybin are $2 and Reimold is $5.

Thanks.? Didn't have V-Mart on the Brats' roster, which John wouldn't
appreciate.

Three quick questions.

1.? For the Brats:? Arias is DL, not yet assigned to AAA.? I think that
means they have to pay the 2 bucks, which would make them 15-175.

2.? For the Red Hots, what are the salaries for Rich's beans -- Maybin,
Erbe, Reimold.

3.? I still get 183 for Hoosiers.? My roster shows Hernandez (15),
Youkilis (11), Ellis (2), Kinsler (2), Ibanez (19), Erstad (8),
Granderson (6), Dice-K (2), Verlander (2), Papelbon (10).? That's a
total of 77 spent.? Where am I off?
