[USML Announce] USML - Cubs connection ?

For League historians:

The Tribune carried an article today on page 1 of the business section announcing a new group has been formed that is seeking to purchase the Cubs.? The group mainly consists of members of the Ricketts family (which owns TD Ameritrade), and is led by Tom Ricketts.? Some of you may recognize Tom's name as a former USML owner.? Tom owned a team in the inaugural USML season of 1989, along with his college?friend Dave Wilson.? If you go to the usml.net website, click on "prognosticators alley" then click on "memory lane," then click on the "1989 final standings," you will discover that the "Dave/Tom" team finished a distant 8th out of 11 USML teams (to the eventual 1989 Champion Block's Bombers).? For all of the USML Cubs fans, lets hope that if the Ricketts Family does acquire the Cubs, they can do better than that !
