[USML Announce] FAAB Fun

But Jim, if we followed the constitution (which earlier this year we
decided we'd wouldn't in favor of the web site) all primary bids for Tex
would trump all secondary bids -- which means you wouldn't get Tex at all.

I haven't a clue as to what the system would have done if bidding on Bay had
been processed correctly.

I accept your apology and just want to point out that I didn't think I was
doing anything wrong. Maybe I didn't read all the pre-bid emails closely
enough; I had a lot going on this week. From my perspective, we always have
had contingent bids and contingent bidding is in the constitution. I
thought of my bids as Bay at 74 was my primary and then my Tex and Nady bids
were contingent if the Bay bid didn't work out. The system didn't have info
on how to do that so I took a guess and when the system didn't reject it, I
thought that I must have done it correctly.

Note, that we're approaching the roster deadline and I have input Tex in my
lineup. If this is all going to be disallowed or I'm getting Bay as I would
under our old system, we're going to have to allow retroactive adjustments
to our lineups this week. I'm not going to be able to hang around my
computer for the next hour to find out. Finally, I definitely object if the
result is going to be that all my bids are thrown out.

My apologies to Jim. I thought my last email was only going to Rich and I
hope you can understand why this process has left me a bit frustrated.

It was not my intention to call Jim out and the intemperate suggestion that
Jim was being cavalier was unfair.

I hate this automatic response to everyone thing that we have set up. It
always seems to get me in trouble.

I'm done with this issue - I'll rely upon the determination of the league.
I think we should probably wait for Mark's return to let him sort this out,
as unfair as that is to him. The result, while not necessarily outcome
determinative, could have an important impact on the race.

That is all.

Jeff

Can we replicate bids next week and see what the system does and adjust
effective dates? Can we use our constitution which I suspect has enough
detail to sort it out? I know we rejected the rules and agreed to go with
the web site. I just throw it out as a possibility. -----Original
