[USML Announce] March 15 Draft Date

I had also thought about the background noise issue, given the Shabes' Vegas history. ?Let's see, it's Jim's b-day, and his wife has something "special" in mind. ?Just mute the phone, Jim. ?(Anybody remember the scene in Wild Thing where the Jeff Daniels character is talking to his boss?)

By the way, setting a date for 2009 won't exactly work for me, because I'm dependent on kids' sports schedules that won't come out until Fall. It's usually not likely that I would have a significant conflict in March, because that's normally a lull in the schedule. ?This year is different because it's an Olympic year, so the whole schedule (including the little kids' schedule) gets moved up so that the national championships are in June instead of August. ?How about if we at least try to do an informal "hold the date" commitment, subject only to events outside our reasonable control? ?At least everyone would know not to book vacations then.

I strongly suggest that we talk about setting a draft date for 2009 at this years draft so that all of us can work towards keeping that date open.

As for the 2008 draft, I have a sneaking suspicion that the 15th is going to be the only date that works.? Jim, of course, if you can't make it in person and we can't find another date, we'll arrange a conference call.? Just promise that, unlike Doug, you'll keep the extra-curricular activities and the associated noises to a minimum during the draft.?

I would like to make a request.? I don't think everyone has weighed in on the 15th.? Can we at least determine if everyone is available on that date??

I know that Mark B., Andy, John, Mark K., Brad, Rich and I are available on the 15th.? Obviously the 15th isn't great for Jim (i.e. phone call), but it appears it works.? I don't recall having seen a response from?Doug, Rick and Buddha - can you guys please respond to this email and let me know if the 15th works?

Assuming that the 15th works for everyone we can then explore the apparently remote possibility of trying to accomodate Jim.

Jeff

After further conversation with my wife, I now understand that?the March 15th weekend? won't work for me to travel.? Any possibility we can do the weekend before (I know that's pretty early) or after?? If March 15th turns out to be the only weekend that works, I'll need to request the possibility of dialing in to the draft.

?

Thanks,

Jim
