I confess that I was a bit surprised to hear you say that "success, in the case of the Bears, is guaranteed".? Then again,?I've always respected your intelligence, so I guess I should have known all along that your feigned excitement about the?Packer was just a cover to appease Blocker and annoy Klein.

nippet) and, of course, your concern for my kids' well-being. At our house,
he risk is entirely reversed; Ezra is such a huge Packer fan that he makes me
ook like a fair weather fan.
To my fellow Packer fans in the league, enjoy the game this weekend. And
ruiter, if you are going, Ezra and I will be in Curly's before the game
spending some of the $90 Doug S will soon be forking over), in section 114
uring the game (brrr...), and in the streets of Green Bay celebrating with
veryone else after the game (and hoping my car starts when we are finally ready

he following story was in the Chicago Tribune this morning. Is anyone here
urprised that periodically a kid is born in the State of Wisconsin without a
ead of cheese and the judgment to root for a real team? Or that a Packer
anatic would behave in this manner? Not me. I just hope the Blocker children

Upset that his 7-year-old son wouldn't wear a Green Bay Packers jersey
uring the team's playoff victory Saturday, a man restrained the boy with tape
nd taped the jersey onto him.
Matthew Kowald was cited for disorderly conduct in connection with the
ncident with his son at their home in Pardeeville, Wis., Lt. Wayne Smith of the
olumbia County Sheriff's Department said. Pardeeville is 30 miles north of
adison.
Kowald, 36, was arrested Monday after his wife told authorities about the
ncident. Kowald was taken to the county jail and held until Wednesday, when he
leaded no contest, paid a fine of $186 and was released. His wife filed a
estraining order Wednesday, so Kowald will not be able to have contact with his
amily, Smith said.
Smith said the incident sounded strange when reported at first, but the
other took pictures with her cell phone and that type of evidence is difficult
o dispute.
Kowald, contacted later Wednesday by the Portage Daily Register, said the
ncident started as a joke. His son challenged him by saying he wouldn't root
or the Packers. When he tied the boy up, the youngster was laughing while his
ife took pictures, he said.
"Then he couldn't get out and he got upset and that's it," he said. "I
idn't mean no harm, and he knows that, but I haven't been able to tell him
hat."
