League:

As fun as it is to debate the Favre thing with Doug (who is wrong on all fronts, just as an aside), there is some serious USML business to deal with. I want to clarify three items for this weekend's FAAB bidding.

1. FAAB budgets: If you have players that you want to waive and have their salary added to your FAAB budget, you must let me know asap, and certainly by Friday morning. Jeff/Andy/Jim, I think I have corrected all of your budgets, but let me know if I am mistaken.

2. Bidding: I do not know for certain if the system will allow you to make bids that exceed your FAAB budget, even if done contingently. I think Andy may have played with this earlier in the year, and so I am happy to get additional guidance.

3. Trades: My understanding is that players acquired via FAAB this week cannot be traded this week. We decide who gets the player on Saturday so that people can adjust accordingly, but I do not believe we permit those players to be traded before they are first rostered on Sunday. Before I get poison pen e-mails, though, I want to make clear this is simply MY understanding, and if others have a different understanding, please let me know.

Finally, I wanted to let the league know that I will be out of town on vacation from 8/2 to 8/9 (in Northern Wisconsin -- Packer country), but should have access to the web.
