Subject: [USML Announce] Sophie's Choice:  The Retention Rosters

Sophie's reviewed the rosters and frankly was waiting for Mr. Blocker to follow in the footsteps of the Angry Young Men and the Hoosier Daddies and announce a last minute chnage of heart.  But apparently he was too involved watching the Dookies go down in flames despite the impressive efforts of Mark's hero, Jon Schuyer.

Sophie's Surprises:

#1 - This is the change that Sophie was sure had to be coming.  Did the Bombers really cut loose Tim Beckham and his $5 salary?  Its not that Blocker doesn't have a nice roster of keepers, but it does beg the question of what Mr. B traded away last year to get him.  Sophie smells a rat.

#2 - Sophie wants to know what's going on with the catchers.  She sees no less than 4 catchers that were retained for more than what she thinks they're worth.

#3 - Since when have middle relievers had such alleged keeper value?  10 middle relievers retained?  She see no less than 8 of those 10 being worth less than their respective salaries.  She's puzzled. 

#4 - Sophie wonders if Rich forgot to renew his subscription to Rotolab and Baseball Forecaster.  She figures that must be the case since Rich is the only team with a retention roster that registers a negative (-11) value on the Rotolab software.
