[USML Announce] Bailey, Daily

Well, that's fine, but how about the Sox get on the stick and rough up C. Lee....I'm tired of having Buddha on my tail....

P.S. to Brad: I dined with Jerry Reinsdorf Saturday night (that is he was two tables over from me). He seemed to eat just fine while Rome burns down at the Cell...

If only I was a "one-pitch pony" with a WHIP below 1.00, I would probably be the subject of Brad's e-mails, and not simply responding to Brad's e-mails. But alas, I'm not...so back to work....

			Andy:
Thanks so much for conducting your due diligence and sharing your research results with the rest of us who like to follow the fortunes of Blocker's Bombers. I was in Barnes & Noble last night (to pick up the latest Stones' remastered re-reissues--when will I learn...) and stumbled upon Baseball America's 2009 Prospect Handbook (no, Andy, I did not buy it this year). This Bailey guy ranked something like 28th of all the A's prospects, and we know what a shallow talent poool they have. It appears that he's a one-pitch pony. Besides, with Franky Francisco's shoulder in flames I am not so sure the Bombers will so readily part with their "closers." After all, when is a 25 point lead ever that safe?

I suppose, Andy, if given a choice between a struggling journeyman with a 1.65 WHIP this year (Ziegler), or a pitcher who had a 1.40 WHIP when he was 23 years old, but is now closing because he has a 1.27 WHIP (oops, my bad, that's his ERA; his WHIP is 0.61), I'd have to give that some thought....

Man, you really have this puffery thing down pat. Like the Big Rippers,
I am eager to see which two All-Stars come your way for the young man
				with the 1.40 AA WHIP!

However, I am not sure if that is really going to help W or Z close games, so I will stick to watching the new closer for an organization that loves young pitchers.
