Not that Andy has a stake in the outcome or anything.

Subject: Re: [USML Announce] Roster Question

The only thing I remember about this issue when it last arose was that I was opposed to what Mark is trying to do. I still am and I agree with Jim that in the absence of clear language allowing it, it shouldn't be allowed.

The clincher for me is when the ultimate rule bender, the Professor, says it isn't allowed, then the matter has to be regarded as settled.

I'm with Jim B.? The argument based on the rules is questionable atbest.? If there was prior "custom," it we had a salary cap.? I don'tthink teams should be able to duck the cap by having empty slots onactive rosters unless the rules clearly permit it.

If there is no evidence of it being permitted, theConstitutional argument is questionable, and the whole point is tododge the salary cap then the answer should be no. ? He should have tojuggle his roster to fit within the salary cap and positionalrequirements.

I haven't seen adecision on my question. ? If permitted, please activate Saltalamachia, reserve Fox, and reserve Mijares. ? Mijares is out for the season, sothis could effectively be accomplished by assigning him a salary ofzero.
