I thought it was 45 IP, but I guess the 45 day thing was why I couldn't locate him on any prospect/roookie lists.  Agree it can be fixed either way.  Hope Rick sees this before tonight so we all know where to put Bard.

Looks like Kerber backed into this one.  As Mark B stated, the rule is 50 innings pitched, which clearly isn't a problem.  However, the 45 day rule also applies and that makes Mr. Bard ineligible for the rookie of the year honor and also for retention as a minor leaguer.  Since Bard pitched in more than 45 games, it seems incontrovertible that he was on the active roster for more than 45 days.  
 
Since Rick had retained less than 9 minor leaguers I think he should be given a choice of moving him to his major league roster or to cut him.

Kerbs, I wondered the same thing, but you may be right for the wrong reason.  The rule is 50 IP or 45 days on the active roster during the period of 25-man limit.  He came up on 5/14/09, so he must have been over the 45-day limit.  Thoughts from others?

Bard has 49 1/3 IP.  I think that makes him ineligible for rookie status.
