[USML Announce] Packer priorities

Judging from the Vikings offense so far this year, I'd say Favre has finally hit the end of the line.
I'll leave the fans out of it, but it's pretty claer that the team pushed him out the door before he was ready, because they knew what they had in Aaron Rogers. When Favre started to think about retiring, they made it pretty clear to him that they preferred to see him go rather than stay. Perfectly good football decision, but not one the "pushee" is going to take well.

The team and the fans handled things just fine. Many players and coaches have departed Green Bay and, even while playing for other teams, have received a hero?s welcome when they returned to Lambeau (e.g., Mike Holmgren remains a revered figure). The difference with Favre is that he announced he wanted to go to the Vikings to ?stick it to the Packers,? and fans tend to be less forgiving about anti-Packer sentiment. So, it may be sad, but don?t blame the team or certainly the fans.
One day there will be a reconciliation and a hero?s welcome for Favre at Lambeau, but that day will not be this season, and not while he plays for the Vikings (or the Bears or Lions in future seasons, as I fully expect once he wears out his welcome in Minneapolis).

I find the whole Favre/Packers thing really sad. You have a guaranteed first ballot Hall of Famer, one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play the game, he wins about a million games for you including the Super Bowl. Then the whole thing turns into a horribly bitter divorce when the player, the team and the fans all (yes, all) make a complete mess of his retirement/departure.

The Bears are a distant third on my list of things I care about. Here is my
list:
1. Packers winning big
2. Favre losing/embarrassing himself (more games like yesterday, please)
3. Bears losing, if it does not conflict with number 2.

should be fun - the Bears are usually out of the race by this juncture of the
season, so happy the game will have some meaning.
