ITEM:
"I don't have any closer," a frustrated Guillen said after the Sox
blew a three-run lead in the ninth inning for the second time this
season.
Matt Thornton came in and struck out Ryan Sweeney before giving up a
two-run, game-tying single to Cliff Pennington. Then he surrendered
three runs in the 10th. The cure may be Sergio Santos, who threw two
scoreless innings Tuesday night and hasn't allowed a run in five
appearances.

LOSER: Berliners' questionable $10 gamble on Matt Thornton and bizarre
decision to avoid closers on draft day earn them one point in saves
and cost them consecutive crown, unless the King cajoles competitors
into trading a closer, but until that day, team trending TOWARD
OBLIVION.

WINNERS: Riptorns still have a Sox closer --Sergio Santos, your turn--
and plenty of save points to trade saves for other value, i.e. Michael
Trout. Klein Nine watch Berliners' hopes slide alongside those of AYM
and Red-Hots, so they retain first place position and despite mediocre
pitching they HOLD STEADY.
