NEW YORK -- The Baltimore Orioles have placed shortstop J.J. Hardy on
the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 10 because of a strained
muscle on his left side, and recalled right-hander Brad Bergesen from
Triple-A Norfolk.

LOSER: Flaming Brats' lumber shortage worsens--how soon can Grady
Sizemore get into that lineup? Will Dan Johnson get untracked? Must
Cruz and Cabrera carry this team all season?  The championship dream
