GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The positive momentum surrounding Jake Peavy's
recovery from surgery hit a snag Sunday as the Chicago White Sox shut
down the right-handed pitcher with what is believed to be rotator cuff
tendinitis.  Peavy, who is on anti-inflammatories, will be reassessed
Monday. If he's unable to make his scheduled start Thursday against
the Chicago Cubs, it's doubtful he'll be on the opening day roster.
"I know they said the first 48 [hours] will be a telling tale," Peavy
said. "It's a day-by-day kind of deal.

LOSER: Bombers. Any chance to convince Berliners that Peavy a safe bet
in exchange for Mike Trout just flew the coop.  Trend line: Bombers'
rebuilding efforts NOSEDIVE.

WINNER: Team that stopped its bidding for Peavy at 10.
