ITEM 1-A:
Austin Jackson went 0-for-5 on Thursday and 0-for-13 as the Tigers
were swept by the Mariners.
It looked like Jackson might be coming around went he went 5-for-13
with a couple of doubles against the White Sox over the weekend, but
his average is back down to .167 now. The Tigers have to be seriously
considering sending him down and calling up Andy Dirks. If it happens,
Casper Wells would likely take over in center field.

ITEM 1-B:
The Blue Jays want promising outfielder Travis Snider to make
adjustments to his swing at Triple-A.

LOSER: Berliners, optimistic over Crawford's BA soaring to season-high
.160, get roiled over news about Snider's demotion and Jackson's quest
to break Mark Reynolds' strikeout record. Owner calls this a money
team; everyone else says CALL IT QUITS.

WINNER: Blockers soon will parlay Wieters into Verlander and Lester,
and their trendline is SOARING SKYWARD.
