*ITEM:*
  The Chicago White
Sox<http://espn.go.com/mlb/team/_/name/chw/chicago-white-sox>traded
closer Sergio
Santos <http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/_/id/29542/sergio-santos> to the Toronto
Blue Jays <http://espn.go.com/mlb/team/_/name/tor/toronto-blue-jays> for
minor league pitching prospect Nestor Molina on Tuesday.

Santos, 28, ranked third among American League relievers in strikeouts per
nine innings with 13.07 in 2011. He also was eighth with 30 saves.

"It is the start of rebuilding," Sox general manager Ken Williams said.

The 22-year-old Molina went 12-3 with a 2.21 ERA and 148 strikeouts in 130
innings between Class-A Dunedin and Double-A New Haven. He averaged 10.2
strikeouts per nine innings pitched in his first full season as a starter.

*WINNER:* Riptorns. Santos bound to earn more saves with the Jays in 2012
than Pale Hose. Berliners: If Thornton does not get traded, maybe he
finally gets a chance to redeem himself as closer. Smart money's on Addison
Reed.

*LOSER:* Us Sox fans. This means Buerhle is gone for sure, maybe even
Konerko and A.J. Time to buy a Tyler Flowers tee shirt.....
