  A's starter Dallas Braden will undergo surgery on Monday to repair a
torn capsule in his left shoulder, the club announced Wednesday.

LOSER: Mild speed bump for Klein Nine's championship ride, since the
young twirler has been a non-factor and Jake Arrieta has emerged in
his place. Carmona's acquisition further bolsters this team's
fortunes, which trend toward the GOLDEN RING.
