Which is why I also bid on him--but only $5. I thought I'd catch everyone sleeping, but Brad was also paying attention.

A player with a long-term contract may be released back into the free agent pool at any time during the season or during the off-season, but a team that chooses to do so will, for the next Auction only, have that player's salary deducted from the team's $260 limit. Notwithstanding the immediately preceding sentence, a player with a long-term contract may be released back into the free agent pool without penalty at any time after completion of the Rotation Draft for the season which is the final season under the long-term contract.

The waiver period commences with the Reporting Period immediately following a team's notification of waiver to the League Secretary and extends for one full Reporting Period. No team may submit a free agent bid for a player during the Reporting Period in which that player is subject to waiver claims. At the conclusion of that Reporting Period, if the player is unclaimed, he goes into the free agent pool.
Accordingly, Morales became a FA after the waiver period expired, as my esteem colleague Mark Kerber also noted.

Greetings;
Kendrys was a FA when I waived him, which is why I waived him. How did he magically become a Y1 man?
