[USML Announce] End of an Era

As a reminder, and for Dennis’ benefit as a new league member, if, before 6/1/12, you trade/acquire a player with rookie status and whose contract is not running, his contract status starts running. If you make the same trade after 6/1, the player’s contract does not start running, unless he loses rookie status during the year.

Example: Deep Minor League X is traded before 6/1; his contact status immediately changes to Y1. If you make the same trade after 6/1, and X never loses rookie status in 2012, his contract status remains “0”.

Thanks for the reminder Andy, although I see that Middlebrooks was acquired in the auction, so his contract was already running.

I think the Broxton Era in KC will be longer than the Aceves Era in Boston.

Speaking of Boston, just want to confirm that Middlebrooks' contract will be running now, as he was dealt before 6/1.

easy now- Broxton took a BS and a loss without giving up a hit or an earned
run. By the same standards, Sergio Santos should not only lose his closer role
but should be exiled to Siberia. Okay, I'm a bit bitter seeing Santos cost two
of my SPs a win.
