[USML Announce] Bombers' Brett Doesn't Pay Off

Yankees placed OF Brett Gardner on the 15-day disabled list with a strained
right elbow. Evidently that elbow injury was worse than a day-to-day
situation. Gardner hurt himself while making a diving catch in Tuesday's
game and wound up being a late scratch Wednesday. It's not clear at this
point how long he might be out. Andruw Jones figures to be playing most
days in left field while Gardner is out.
