Jim,

You are focusing on the wrong element of this deal.  Pujols was a throw in.  This was all about the Twinkies (Morneau and Mauer).  John was able to unite the two guys who bear almost complete responsibility for ruining the mighty Twins.  He’s banking on their ability to have an equal and opposite effect upon the fortunes of the Brats.  As of now, the Twinkie factor is up to five for the Brats.  I’ve been told that critical mass is around 7, so gather up your Twinkies and make an offer – John is listening.
