>From Nashville:
Although Hoosier Daddies can no longer tout Ernesto Frieri in their
closer caravan, Baseball's Winter Meetings put a bigger hurt on two other
storied USML franchises, the Nukes and Berliners. Nukes first get stung by
Russell Martin trade to the Bucs, but the bombs really dropped when Ben
Revere, the $5 speedster, was traded to the Phils, Denard Span got shipped
to the Nats and staff ace Dan Haren signed with the Nats. If Nukes have
shot in '13, they'll do it with Smoak and mirrors....Berliners' 2013
rebuilding project took on water when team cornerstone BJ Upton was traded
to the Braves...Berliners continue efforts to unload guaranteed contracts
of Austin Jackson and Santana, while praying that Wil "Trade Bait" Myers
does not end up in NL before Berliners can sell at plummeting price....LMC
flounder with loss of Pennington and Rhymes to NL..... AFV continue to
await news on Manny Ramirez signing.....start heating the coals for the Hot
Stove.....
