[USML Announce] Another Bite at the Appel

An interesting question.  I think the answer is as follows:

Were he on the roster of the Riptorns or Berliners the answer would surely be no.  He is (and I presume will continue to be) listed on the website as a member of an NL team until next year's draft and that would be more than sufficient basis to make him ineligible.

Since he's not on one of those two rosters, the answer will surely be yes.  He cannot be signed by Pittsburgh and therefore becomes a player that is eligible to be retained as the Stanford player he will once again be.
