All I really have to say is, thankfully in the rotation draft I grabbed David Aardsma, the Yankees future closer when he returns from his minor injury. The trooper that he is, he threw 22 pitches off a 5-inch mound so it's just a matter of time until he unseats that Cliff Robertson character.

ITEM
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - If there has been one constant with the Yankees<http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/sports/baseball/majorleague/newyorkyankees/index.html?inline=nyt-org> during the recent edition of their dynasty, it has been the unparalleled success and durability of their closer, Mariano Rivera<http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/r/mariano_rivera/index.html?inline=nyt-per>.

But Rivera crumpled to the ground in agony Thursday, and all that may have changed. Suddenly, the Yankees' fortunes this season appear very unclear.

LOSER
Angry Young Men. Must now count on the inestimable Matt Capps to keep team afloat as THE WAVES ARE CRASHING IN.

WINNER
Riptorns. With David Roberston poised to garner a seasonful of saves, the Rips now have an armada of closers as THEY RIDE A WAVE OF GOOD FORTUNE.
