It would be an improvement if he could just limit himself to spitting and drooling. Whenever he mentions Mike Trout, it's more like . . . well, let's just say he seems to get a bit excited.

Andy,

I thought he essentially does that every time he posts.

Thanks, Brad. I tried to be subtle, but if you could spit or drool closer to, say, Winick next year, I'd appreciate it ...

Andy, I did not realize until know how you felt about people expectorating near your lower extremities. I will try to be sensitive about that at the draft.

My first baseball game was at Wrigley with a Deerfield Youth Baseball Association outing -- I think it was 1970. Don Kessinger was my favorite player. He lived in Northbrook (not far from the current Blocker abode) on the same street as some close family friends. So I got a cool autographed photo of #11 back in the day. I also was a big Fergie Jenkins fan. I think I shared my story of meeting him in Cooperstown a few years ago.

Jim ... I saw Kingman on the street once walking to Taste of Chicago when it was held at Navy Pier. I tried to say hello. He never looked up and, instead, spit about two inches from my foot. Needless to say, I wasn't much of a King Kong fan after that.

Between the HoF voting and Brad's Pete Rose story got me thinking of baseball past. Any of you want to share your favorite player growing up and first game attended?

For me, my first game was at Wrigley in '76 when I was 5 years old. I saw the Cubs lose to the Dodgers.

My favorite player as a kid was Dave Kingman. I'll always remember his 48 HRs in 1979. By '84 I transitioned to Ryne Sandberg but I still followed also Kingman into his DH years in Oakland.
