Thanks.   I'm enjoying this thread.   Anyway,  let this be a lesson to ask you self styled contenders who Jeep ignoring my offers.

That trade catapulted me from 7th or 8th place to third place and I think I was half a point from 2nd that year.

With all due respect to Andy, it has always been a mystery to me why Matt Wieters and Martin Perez (and up until recently, Mark Blocker) get the blame for the epic collapse of the Klein Nine in 2010.

As I predicted at the time, here is the transaction that was the culprit, so it seems to me the blame should fall on one of two people:

Javier Vasquez or Andy Klein (note that Andy proposed the trade to Jim, not vice-versa).

If there was one move remaining necessary to guarantee the collapse of the Klein Nine, this was it.  Rich, would you like to weigh in here on the joys of Javy Vasquez ownership down the stretch?

In a trade consummated across international borders, the Klein Nine trades Jose
Bautista to the Lake Michigan Calamari for Javier Vazquez.
Cheers from England.  I hope I'm still in first when I get back next week.  And
remind me not to let family members trade White Sox players to me any more ...
-Andy
PS:  Mark B., I proposed the trade to Jim via the new Onroto feature.  It notes
that after he accepts, you still need to do something to have the players
actually move rosters.

The formal statement absolved Mark B. of any and all responsibility or culpability.  But I cannot help my own emotional pain at setting the W word in writing.  That will still take years of counseling and therapy.

I thought Andy had issued a formal statement to that effect earlier this year.

I might prefer such a filter though because I suspect my deal involving that same catcher might have doomed my season from the outset. Yu now what I'm talking about.

Rich,

I thought you adjusted the listserv filters so I would not receive any emails including the word "Weiters". It greatly distresses me when I do!

Amen Jeff. I don't want to go back and see how my stats would have differed had I not traded for Verlander and the also disappointing Weiters. Ugh.

Keep sipping on the Mai Tai. Your season was already over before you left.

According to Rotowire, Carter has a hand injury, but it’s not serious. He’ll be back today or tomorrow.
