If I understand you correctly, I don't agree.  I believe it is the rule that the team acquiring the player can't trade him on the day that the player is acquired, but he can certainly trade him up until the trading deadline, even if the trading deadline falls during the week immediately after the player was acquired.  So, if Jim wants to trade Garza after he acquires him, he can do so effective the reporting period starting on August 4th.

I've always assumed that a player acquired via FAAB bidding cannot be traded until the subsequent reporting period.  So, for example, its my understanding that the team acquiring Garza tonight may not trade him during the current reporting period.  Is that correct?
