[USML Announce] Notice of Hot Wax Seal--SPECIAL PRESEASON BLOCKBUSTER EDITION

This is clearly a case where the spirit of the league should trump what is Mr. Kerber's very Klein-esque (and therefore highly respected) attempt to find a loophole. These should be treated as unbalanced trades in my opinion.

If anyone else is ready to start playing for 2014, I suggest that they call me before the at one time presumptive champion. I have far Moore to offer than Mr. Robbins who, as far as I can tell, has now shot his wad.

Consider how nicely guys like Desmond Jennings ($15), Manny Machado ($10) and Jake Peavy ($9) would fit on your 2014 roster and they can be had right now. Of course, once we get to the bean-deadline, I will have plenty of other guys available, including the second coming of Yu Darish, Masahiro Tanaka. You know where to find me.

Jeff

I can't imagine otherwise. These are unbalanced trades.

Any one else playing for 2014? If so, call me.

I would interpret the rule to apply once the draft is over. Should clean that up or argue about it if others disagree.

Nukes/Red Hots:

Red Hots to Nukes: Tyler Flowers, Yu Darvish, Jarrod Parker and Sean Rodriguez
These trades are being treated as permitted unbalanced trades, per league rules, for purposes of this announcement. However, for what it's worth, I think it is arguable that the rule does not apply to pre-season trades, because the rule expressly applies only during "the season" which is generally used in the rules to refer to the MLB regular season.
