On a far less serious note, I offer the following in response to Mr. Shabelman's most recent post:

First of all, no self-respecting Cubs fan pays any attention to the South Siders.  This one certainly doesn't.  How are they doing anyway?  I can't help but smile every time I hear a Sox fan crow about their winning organization.  1 World Series championship in 99 years and they act like they're Chicago's version of the Yankees (laugh).

I watched the Cubs win another one today at a real ballpark.  And I didn't even have to worry about getting shot as I walked home.  So, in honor of the Cubs greatness, I hereby announce the following mutually beneficial trade between the Berliners and the Nukes that will be effective this coming Sunday (i.e. post June 1st):

From the Berliners:  Xander Bogaerts, Tyler White and Kyle Tucker

From the Nukes:  Hisashi Iwakuma, Aroldis Chapman and Elvis Andrus.

Go Berliners!!
Go Cubs!!

In honor of the White Sox recent hot streak which has put a smile on the faces of those whose team hasn't won a WS in over (laugh) 100-some years, The Angry Young Men and Nukes announce the following mutually beneficial trade:

From the AYM: Ketel Marte, Jose Iglesias, Gary Sanchez and Sonny Gray*

From the Nukes: Robbie Cano*, Carlos Beltran, Didi Gregorius and Chris Archer*

As this deal consists of a minor leaguer, it is effective next week and that, for now, is all.

And in all seriousness, take time to remember what the veterans did for our country.
