I proposed language to conform the constitution to the practice. Not sure if it was incorporated or not. I/we will need to check.

 Thanks, Mark K.
To address the other question that comes up almost every year: what about *waiver* acquisitions in September? The section Mark cited specifically mentions free agents, which would imply that waiver-wire acquisitions would keep their contract status if acquired in September and be eligible for retention in 2025. But if I recall, precedence has overruled that before and considered them free agents.
What’s the thinking this year?

See my other email.  I think Section XIV(3) effectively answers this question.

Good question.  I defer to the will of the league.  The rule says "the contract status of a free agent acquired on or before the last weekly transaction deadline before September 1 is that of a first-year player."  I view tonight (August 31) as the "transaction deadline" for FAAB purposes, so acquired players should be Y1.  Others should feel free to comment.

Players bought with FAAB funds tomorrow are they Y1.  Or FA.
