Unlike roto, you can't win the title unless you make the playoffs first.

Mark "DFF" Blocker,

You're getting closer, but obviously still don't get it. The bottom line is
that its about grabbing the brass ring - not about getting close. That's
what makes the Bears a storied franchise, its what makes Steinbrenner someone
to be admired and it used to be what people respected about the Packers back
in Lombardi's day. You and the other cheeseheads in the league were all
excited about making the playoffs. Big deal. You lost. Again. Nuff said.

As much as you profess a desire to stop talking about DDF, you keep bringing
it up. Let me try again. In rotisserie, just like in the NFL, beating the
expansion and rebuilding teams but never finishing first is not a worthy goal
of a quality franchise (like the Bombers, or at least the Bombers of old).
I'm just trying to instill a little pride in the Packers fans and certain
rotisserie owners. Another mediocre year without a championship trophy is
nothing to be proud of.

Let me give you some examples:

In USML 2004, I finished ahead of the Bombers but third overall. That was
BAD. (Not as bad as finishing behind the Bombers would have been, but BAD
nonetheless)

In Playoff Rotisserie, I clobbered both you and Klein and won. That was
GOOD.

In the NFL weekly pool, I finished ahead of you, but 11th overall. That was
BAD.

In the NFL weekly "Powerball" pool, I tied with you for the championship.
I'm not sure if that was GOOD or BAD.

In the College football pool, I finished way ahead of you, Klein, my brother
and the other 20 plus participants. That was GOOD.

In XFL 2003, I finished ahead of three so-called experts, but finished
behind 8 others. That was BAD.

In XFL 2004, I finished ahead of all of the so-called experts and won. That
was GOOD.

Hmm, upon reflection, 2004 was a pretty good year. Seems to me that I'm in
pretty good shape with anything associated with Mark Blocker as long as I
stay off the tennis court. I can almost hear "tennis, anyone" in the distance.
No thanks.

That is all, for now.

Jeff
