[USML Announce] USML - Roster Freeze Day etc.

  The USML Draft is now just NINE days away.  Here is a list of  the upcoming 
deadlines and some instructions regarding those deadlines.
 
1.  March 12 (11:59 pm. Saturday night) -- Roster Freeze Day
 
  This is the day and time that retention rosters are due.  Keep  in mind 
that you can retain up to nine players who are either major or minor  leaguers 
PLUS up to three players who are minor leaguers with major league  rookie status 
whose USML contract is not running (i.e. contract status=0).   Consult the 
constitution for specifics.
 
  When you submit your retention roster, please submit it in the  format in 
which I posted mine yesterday.  You must include the name of the  player, the 
new 2005 contract status, and the new 2005 salary.  Next to the  salary, please 
specifically indicate if you are signing that player to a long  term contract 
(LTC).  In the absence of LTC information, the league will  presume that 
players whose 2004 contract status was Y2 will have a 2005 contract  status of FA.
 
2.  March 13 (Sunday) -- Roster Posting Day 
 
  As soon as I receive all of the retention rosters, I will make  appropriate 
changes to the league website.  NOTE: I have already  incorporated the two 
trades that have occurred.  I have NOT updated any  contract information as of 
yet.
 
3.  March 16 (11:59 p.m. Wednesday night) -- Free Drop Deadline
 
  This is the date and time that any free drops are due.  For  league 
newcomers, you can drop one player on your retention roster without  penalty on or 
before that day (e.g., in case of an unexpected injury or second  thoughts about 
retaining the player).  You are not required to drop.   Also, you may not 
"un-drop" -- in other words, you cannot reclaim a player that  was not on your 
retention roster but was on your original 40 man roster.
 
4.  March 19 (9:00 a.m. Saturday morning) -- Draft Day 2005
 
  The draft will be held at Sidley starting promptly at 9:00 a.m. at  Sidley. 
 Please be on time.  Also, to ensure a proper security list,  please let me 
know the names of any persons who will be attending the draft for  your team 
(especially Cups).  Reminders for times and directions will be  sent next week.
