Chicago, IL
August 16, 2007

In a turnaround so stunning that even the normally unflappable Professor Andrew Klein was heard to mutter, "Bloody Hell", the Block's Bomber franchise, headed by Mark "PT/KR" Blocker, announced its wholesale adoption of what is known in the business as?"touting the tykes", "beatifying the?beans" or "praising the prospects."? It is a practice heretofore seen only from the likes of well-know DUMP members Brad Lee?Jansen and Jeffrey "The Evil One" Winick.??

"We at the Block's Bomber franchise?have tried for years to deny the obvious, to?avoid the inevitable and to challenge the irrefutable.? Top notch young baseball prospects are what rotisserie baseball is all about.? We'll be the first ones to acknowledge that we were beguiled?by The Professor into believing that?our refusal to engage in the arduous process of identifying, drafting, nurturing, touting and then trading young prospects had anything to do with our relegation to an annual drive for five.? In fact, it really wasn't until we watched the good professor?turn?barely defensible "prospects" like Ryan Ludwick and Elijah Dukes?into?tools from which to build a contending team that we saw the light.??We offer David Price, Matt Wieters and Andrew "David" Brackman (cut us a break, please, we knew his name was Andrew, but we at Block's Bombers HQ call him David) as Exhibits A, B & C in our case that the Bombers now understand what the game is?really about and are prepared to play it with abandon.? We readily acknowledge that we're still?learning this game, which is why our key prospects?are comprised of a young Tampa Bay pitcher (never been one worth $10), a catcher (damn near never develop)?and a Yankees prospect (could he be the 1 in a 100), but?today marks the day that the Block's Bombers "got it".? We're here to?play and we're here to stay.

So, to you,?Professor Andrew Klein, I say look for another sucker the next time you try to foist upon the league a proposal that would?end prospecting.? We won't be fooled again."

No response yet from the Mr. Winick, but Brad Lee Jansen issued the following statement:? "Its about friggin time."

More as this story develops.

? Thank you for asking this very?pertinent and timely question.? In fact, all of the Bomber draft picks signed and will be on my retention roster (barring offseason trade).? You would have heard a lot of breathless comment about these players if they had been on one of the team that gets Beckham-level press coverage (Riptorns, Berliners), but alas, since they reside on the Bombers, there has been nary a peep.? So lets review.

? The Bombers took three college players in the rotation draft.? All three were then drafted by AL teams.? All three then signed before the 8/15 deadline.? Here is the stockpile:

1.? David Price -- A lefty pitcher and the #1 overall choice in the 2007 amateur draft.? He is a high strikeout, future ace.

2.? Matt Wieters -- He has the very common combination of being both a catcher and a closer.? The #5 overall pick will likely play catcher in the bigs.

3.? David Brackman -- Another first round power pitcher, this one drafted by the Yankees.??

? That is all for now.??

? -- Mark B.

Hey -- have the Blocker draft picks been signed yet or will they be available in
ext year's MLB draft?

Thank you for the latest installment of "Pump and Dump," the daily publication
f the Riptorn franchise.? To provide a more even-handed view of league affairs,
thought I would offer the following item:

Joba Chamberlain <http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.asp?sport=MLB&id=4518>
 RHP Yankees ?

Easily the player who has done the most for his prospect status during the
irst four and a half months of the 2007 season, Chamberlain is now firmly
ntrenched as one of the game's top pitching prospects ." -- Rotoworld

During his stint in Tampa Chamberlain posted a 2.03 ERA and 51/11 K/BB ratio.
e pitched similarly well after moving up to Trenton for eight appearances and
cranton-Wilkes Barre for three more. Between the three levels, the Native
merican right-hander recorded a 2.45 ERA and an incredible 135/27 K/BB ratio in
8 1/3 innings of work." -- Bomber Nation Press Guide

Chamberlain has the stuff that one can dream on, and he'll likely step in as no
orse than a No. 3 starter for the Yankees in 2008. In time he'll be an ace" --
otoworld

You never hear about this guy because he is not a Riptorn" -- Winick Worldwide
ublications

What ever happened to King Bean?" -- Some Bloke Named Andy Klein

If you no help me now, I say forget you Jo-Ba." -- The movie "Major League"
quote slightly altered for effect)
