Tigers' Rogers Is Likely Out Until July After Surgery, AP Says
2007-03-30 14:28 (New York)

By Larry DiTore
March 30 (Bloomberg) -- Detroit Tigers pitcher Kenny Rogers
likely will be out until July after undergoing surgery today to
remove a blood clot from his left shoulder, the Associated Press
said.
Rogers, who won 17 games last year, was placed on the 15-
day disabled list yesterday with what the team called a tired
arm. He had the surgery, which also repaired arteries, today in
Dallas, the AP said, citing Tigers President Dave Dombrowski.
Rogers, 42, is expected to begin throwing in six to eight
weeks, with his earliest return to the rotation coming in July,
the AP said.
Rogers went 17-8 with a 3.84 earned run average in 2006. He
won all three of his starts in the playoffs and World Series
without allowing a run.
