DVR is cheaper. You usually have to buy a Tivo and then pay a monthly fee on top of it.? DVRs just have a monthly fee.? Tivo allegedly has some features that?a DVR doesn't such as being able to suggest shows that you might want to watch.? But if you just want the basics, a cable DVR should be just fine.?
