I think we had this same conversation a couple of years ago and came out the same way. ?The website is neutral and equally accessible to all, plus it allows for the normal automated bidding process.

The issue is that the trade hasn't been completed yet and so Nady wasn't available to be bid on at the deadline.? Because these things are a close call and to keep a level playing field, it's good to have a clear standard.? What Mark B. indicated at the outset seems spot-on.? We should be able to rely on the list of FAs that appear on the web site.? Nobody should be able to get a bid in while others think the player isn't yet available.? It seems simple enough.
