[USML Announce] Rule Question

Mark, your point is the reason why I said this could be revisited.
However, we had these rules before we had onroto, and it was only when
we went to onroto that the FAAB auction was run automatically with
results available on Sunday at 12:01. In the pre-onroto days, I do not
recall that an owner could submit a FAAB bid that said: $50 on X, and
if acquired, trade him to Team A. We just compared bids, announced the
winners, and then executed whatever contingency instructions were given.

That's the way I would think it would work. If you can activate him,
why can't you also trade him? Also, I always thought the whole point
behind the timing of the trade deadline (first period after the MLB
deadline) was to allow trading in the wake of the MLB activity). If you
can't trade someone you're purchased, that doesn't work very well. But,
as you all know, I always interpret the rules to allow more transactions
rather than fewer.

Mark

This has to involve Colby Rasmus, but nevertheless here's my take: the
player acquired via faab becomes a team's property at 12:01 a.m.
Sunday--so why can't he be traded in a deal that takes effect the
following Sunday? I say this without having read the constitution, so if
that states otherwise I abide its word.

Ok Brad, assume it is your team and my team and the player involved is

Depends on (i) who the player is and (ii) what teams are tryng
to do a deal.

Please provide the information and I will furnish a legal
opinion.

	Thank you.

Can a player acquired in FAAB bidding this weekend also be
traded this reporting period?

Since this is the last trading period before the contiguous
trading requirement kicks in I'd like to make sure we have a consistent
understanding of this issue. I don't recall how we have addressed this
one in the past.

	Thanks,
