Who just happens to be the general counsel of one of the most respected investment research firms in the world. Yea - I know exactly who you are, Mr. Robbins.

But I'm not a litigator Jeff. I'm just a modest in-house scribe.

Rich,

I've had a lot of guys telling me to trust them over the course of the last 2 ½ weeks. Seems like each of the defendant's counsel is eager to reassure that I've done enough to win the case and enough is enough. I can assure you that I will be treating your advice in the same manner I have treated theirs.

Jeff

Jeff,

You are a lock. Don't mortgage the future. Coast from here. I will enjoy a couple of days in the sun and then, as autumn approaches, quietly recede into the shadows. Trust me.

No trial and certainly no BS from the Packer nation could ever divert me from the top task on my list for 2013 - beat Brad Lee. Unfortunately for you Rich, that means that I will be focusing on USML. Enjoy your time at the top.

Trial will be over soon and it will also be past June 1 which means not only will guys like Moore and Machado be available, but the two time Baseball America Player of the Week Francisco Lindor, wunderkinds Byron Buxton and George Springer and the follow-up to King Felix in Seattle, Taijuan Walker will all be available in trade. And for those of you paying attention, it's starting to look like Masahiro Tanaka will be pitching in pinstripes next year. He, too, will be available.

You know where to find me.

Jeff,

Keep your focus on the trial in Florida and then on these outrageous claims from Packer nation. After that I'd recommend that you focus on NBA playoffs, NHL playoffs, the French Open, Wimbledon, the US Open, perhaps all the great auto racing that abounds in the summer. Spend lots of quality time with your family. Hey, are you keeping up with your training? Being on the road must be tough. You've worked far too hard and achieved so much to let a long trial get in the way of your conditioning. Perhaps you need to plan a long family vacation to a far away location where internet access is spotty. If you have all that under control then I'd like to know if you are involved enough in your synagogue? So many things to focus on. Let me do what I can to help you keep a proper focus and balance in your life. I know I am. Family, work, Blackhawks, Indy 500, playing tennis, watching tennis, dealing with unfounded smirks from my trainer or the perfectly reasonable smirks from the guy who is repairing my car ("how did you do that") -- what else might I possibly think about? Not coming up with anything.

I think the answer to your question would have to be either "you" or "BL Jansen". It certainly wasn't me. I was talking about Payton's performance on the field and the way that he treated his opponents. He was respected because he was a great player and he let his play on the field speak for itself. No Tony the Tiger roars (e.g. Clay Matthews), no dirty play (e.g. Charles Martin). Walter just gave it his all, got up after he was tackled and lined up for the next play. I understand that as a Packers fan the concept of being a class act is foreign to you. But that is what I meant.

who was arguing whether Paul Hornung was a notorious carouser? You said Walter Payton was universally regarded as a class act when it seems his own wife would disagree. I'm just not sure whether Paul Hornung was as classy as to hand out laughing gas to his teammates, but I suspect Lombardi might have had something to say about that if he did.

So now we're talking adultery? That's the standard by which we're going to measure whether Payton was a class act? Well, I have to hand it to you John, by that standard it turns out that you might have been right all along.

Paul Hornung's most famous quote came in response to the question of why he got married in the morning. His response:

"Never get married in the morning - you never know who you might meet that night.<http://www.searchquotes.com/quotation/Never_get_married_in_the_morning_-_you_never_know_who_you_might_meet_that_night./34997/>"

Sounds like Mr. Hornung set an outstanding example for Brett to follow.

Point number __ on the list of reasons to hate Packer fans.

Only a Packer fan would demean the memory of one of the all time great football players - a player universally regarded as a class act. The same, sadly can never be said of a Packer fan in the act of being a Packer fan.

'nuff said.

As for getting the chance to shake his hand - I have to admit that's pretty cool. Even this Bears fan has to admit that Hornung was one of the all time greats.
