League:

I see from the weekend email traffic that some league members are now
trying to puff some of their players to ready them for trade. Out of
concern that only partial information is being delivered to the
marketplace, I offer this helpful primer.

One owner is advertising a potential trade of Matt Moore. A nice keeper,
but before you leap into an ill-advised trade, let's look at some
under-the-radar pitchers who are putting up similar numbers.
Her are the numbers on Moore: 61 IP, 2.21/1.098, and 56 Ks.

Now, here are some under-the-radar alternatives with similar numbers:

1. Alex Cobb: Wait, does he have similar numbers? Yes!!! Look: 68 IP,
2.66/1.064. 62 Ks. He is available now in trade.

Now, the Moore owner may point out a small salary discrepancy, and just
in case you are persuaded by that sort of stuff, here is number 2.

2. Ervin Santana: He has returned to his old form, and hes $1. Wait,
four quarters? That's right, a buck. And he is a Y1, not Y2 like Moore.
His numbers: 63 IP, 3.14/1.079 (wow!) and 52Ks. He is available in trade
as well.

Thank you for reading this valuable public service. At Bomber HQ, we
have operators standing by to take you call. Talk to you soon.
