...and let me also add that Mark Killer B's initial reply to the various
league wags' responses to The Trade of the Century reveals a somewhat sweet
lost innocence so rarely seen in these cynical days of rotiserrie baseball.
If Mark only traded more frequently; he then would be hardened to the
cutting commentary wielded by butchers like Andy Klein and the surgical
strikes delivered with cunning precision by wordsmiths like Jeffrey
Winick....speaking of Jeffrey--and how can one not speak his name in any
serious discussion of this Game?-- I'd like to think that both us view the
Sport of Roto Ball as a sort of performance art. We play the game to make
deals that arouse interest, debate and passion--we thrive on that, and that
alone. Damn the standings and the money and occasional Damon they sometimes
bring. It's the audience we play for, themt and them alone. So, Mark
Blocker, Jeffrey and I beseech you: when the curtains part, take your bow
and let the tomatoes fly from the likes of Andy Klein!! Stand tall amidst
the shouts and catcalls!! You, good sir, have traded. And that's what Life
is all about.
